Here is a very special message from fellow Supporter Brian Hibbard. When we were in Seattle together for MLS Cup, he asked if we’d support him and the MS Society for 2010. My heart went out to Brian as he detailed to me what MS is and what it means to him.
I also kept thinking “Of course!!! We’re not just the die hards of the Rapids – but we’re a family – a clan. We’re not only there to support the Rapids, but in a society today where communities are being redefined – we’re there for each other too.”
If you know Brian – you know what an amazing man he is. I encourage you not only to support Brian and our efforts in fund raising for the MS Society, but to also speak to him about MS. I’ve learned so much and it is something that has touched lives of so many people we love.
My name is Brian Hibbard. I am part of the Rapids supporters coalition, NoFanAlone specifically Class VI. Every year, NoFanAlone (Class VI & Centennial Firm) chooses a charity event to support. In 2006, we raised money for at risk youth organization, North Littleton Promise. In 2007, we sent soccer balls to kids in Iraq. Our 2008 effort supported the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. Last year, we conducted a bone marrow drive in support of Andy Williams.
This year,we have chosen to support the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society and the MS 150bike ride taking place June 26-27. It is a 150 mile bike ride over 2 days (75miles each day) that runs from Denver to Fort Collins and back. This event has become incredibly important, because I have a very personal connection with MS. Last April 2009, I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, a life-changing diagnosis, to be sure. I am grateful that NoFanAlone has decided to support this cause.
We’re asking for your support in this event. There are many ways you can contribute. Donations, volunteering, or riding are the most helpful ways.
Donating
Our donation page is located here: ColoradoRapids Supporters
If you would like to donate (it is tax deductible!), please choose any team member by clicking on their name & click donate. Every team member has a $1,000 goal. If you see someone that hasn’t met that, please consider donating to their goal. It all goes to the same place. Any amount, great or small, helps to make a difference in the lives of people with MS. We appreciate your support and are proud to have so many generous and caring supporters. We also will be posting regular updates on NoFanAlone.com
Volunteering
Volunteering information can be found here: Volunteer Information
We would really like to form a volunteer team, but we need enough people to do so. Let’s show Colorado what hearts and generosity we supporters have! Email me if you’d like to be part of the volunteer team.
Riding
We currently have a 3 person team and are looking for at least 1 more rider, but the more people we have the better. If you are interested in joining our team, please let me know & I will send you the password. Our team page is located here: ColoradoRapids Supporters
Again, thank you for your support in our previous fund raising efforts and we look forwardto making 2010 our biggest drive yet. It is loyal supporters, fans, and people like you who make a difference in the lives of others and we are proud to inspire & encourage Colorado and other MLS supporters groups to follow our lead.
If you have any questions or would like more information on my story, MS, or how you can volunteer please email me:

Brian Hibbard
